Sam McAlister is a BAFTA-nominated interviews producer renowned for her adept negotiation skills, having engaged with an array of prominent figures ranging from Buckingham Palace to The White House, Tesla to Facebook. With over a decade of experience in BBC’s prestigious news programs, particularly BBC Newsnight, she excels in persuading reticent individuals to partake in a news program known for its rigorous and incisive approach.

Her impressive list of exclusives includes renowned personalities such as HRH Prince Andrew, Sheryl Sandberg, Prime Minister Trudeau, President Clinton, Prime Minister Netanyahu, Elon Musk, James Comey, Stormy Daniels, Julian Assange, Trevor Noah, Amy Schumer, and Eric Schmidt. Through these interviews, she provides valuable insights into leadership, reputation, and communication in the modern era, offering guidance on avoiding critical errors and handling the media’s most probing interrogations.

Additionally, Sam McAlister imparts her wisdom on the art of negotiation, honed over decades of experience. Her expertise extends to matters of media management, strategic thinking, and effective public speaking, aspects that have been integral throughout her career—from her previous role as a criminal defense barrister to her numerous accolades in public speaking and debating, as well as her interactions with celebrities and governments.

In 2022, Sam released her book, “Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews,” unveiling the behind-the-scenes workings of a former BBC producer who navigated her way into Buckingham Palace, providing an exclusive glimpse into unforgettable journalism moments of our time. The book earned bestseller status on Amazon and was optioned for a documentary on Channel 4, titled “The Problem Prince,” which aired as part of the channel’s Coronation coverage in May 2023. It also found its way onto A&E in August 2023. Furthermore, “Scoops” has been selected for adaptation into a Netflix film, featuring esteemed screenwriter Peter Moffat, with Billie Piper portraying Sam, Gillian Anderson as Emily Maitlis, Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew, and Keeley Hawes as Amanda Thirsk, his private secretary. The film is slated for release in 2024.

Adding to her illustrious career, Sam McAlister has recently taken on the role of a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE), where she imparts her knowledge by teaching negotiation at the law faculty.

In addition to her public achievements, Sam offers private clients expert counsel on matters related to media and negotiation.
